Tumwater, Wash. - The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations (OII) is releasing the identities of the deputies involved in a use of deadly force incident that occurred on March 16, 2026, in Lewis County, Washington.
Both are with the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office. Deputy Tyson Brown, age 40, has been with the department for 15 years. Currently, he is assigned as a Patrol Deputy. Deputy Jared Kasinger, age 38, has been with the department for 12 years. He is currently assigned as a K9 Deputy.
The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the deceased as Kenny R. Risley, age 53.
The fatal encounter occurred just before noon in Cinebar, a community along State Route 508 east of Onalaska.
