Olympia, Wash. (Aug. 2, 2025) – The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations (OII) has established a tip line as it continues to investigate a fatal officer-involved shooting that occurred in Vancouver, Wash.
Anyone who may have information regarding the incident is asked to call the OII Tip Line at 564-250-3396.
The Vancouver Police Department notified OII of the incident at 11:07 p.m. on July 30, although it was a deputy with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office who used deadly force.
According to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, their deputies were assisting Vancouver Police when they encountered a man who was believed to have been involved in an earlier disturbance. The man was reported to have a firearm. During the encounter that followed, a Clark County sheriff’s deputy discharged their firearm, shooting the man, who died from his injuries.
