Tumwater, Wash. – The Washington State Office of Independent Investigations (OII) is releasing the name of the officer involved in a non-fatal use of deadly force incident that occurred on May 26, 2026, in Vancouver, Washington.
- Officer Alexander Zaferis, age 29, was hired by the Vancouver Police Department in July 2022 and is currently assigned to the Tactical Services Unit.
This incident remains under investigation. Anyone who may have information about this incident should call the OII Tip Line at 564-233-8119. Callers are reminded that all information provided to OII is subject to public disclosure, as required by RCW 42.56, the Public Records Act.
